Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to women and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vitals to ensure safe deliveries
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, providing immediate newborn care
• Educate new parents on breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the health care team to develop individualized birth plans
• Respond quickly to emergencies and support high-risk deliveries with confidence

Qualifications

• Active Idaho RN license (or compact if applicable)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
• Completion of Trinity Health specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Ability to work a fixed day shift with holiday rotation and every other weekend
• Previous labor and delivery experience preferred, but a passion for maternal-child health is a must!

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal heart monitoring interpretation skills
• Knowledge of maternal and newborn assessment
• Comfort with electronic health records
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations
• Team-oriented attitude with a focus on family-centered care
