Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory therapies to patients from newborns to geriatrics
- Manage mechanical ventilators and provide critical care support
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and analysis
- Respond to emergent airway situations with confidence
- Administer medication nebulizer treatments and conduct EKGs
- Float throughout the facility to support various departments as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapy experience including critical care with pediatrics
- Active CRT or RRT certification
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Active PALS and NRP cards
- Experience with EKGs and EPIC charting preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical ventilator management for adult patients
- Blood gas acquisition and analysis
- Non-invasive ventilation techniques
- EKG acquisition and bedside spirometry
- Aerosol therapy and medication delivery
- Proficiency with Meditech and Pyxis systems
