Education

• Common diagnosis / Types of patients Heart dysrhythmias, GI issues, dialysis, general medical patients
• Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have experience with dialysis patients, cardiac skills, Tele
• Are RN's required to titrate drips Few drips they titrate, low dose dopamine
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips Few drips they titrate, low dose dopamine
• Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips? No, regionalized system where the techs monitor all of the EKGs strips in entire the hospital
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Yes
• Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios Yes, 10-12 patients
• RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) EPIC
• Shifts & Scheduling 12 hour shifts, 7a-7p, 7p-7a, centralized scheduling
• Weekend Requirement EOW
• Holiday Requirement Yes
• Call or Standby Requirement No
• Floating Requirements Yes, everyone floats to Tele units.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code Any professional colors
• Unit/Department Specific Orientation 1-2 days of orientation
