Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to stepdown and progressive care patients, including those with CHF, MI, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac procedures.
• Monitor telemetry continuously and respond quickly to changes in patient status, titrating cardiac IV medications as ordered.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote optimal recovery.
• Educate patients and families on condition management, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications.
• Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the care experience.
• Participate in bedside procedures such as cardioversion and support emergency interventions.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerin, amiodarone, dopamine, etc.)
• Cerner EMR proficiency
• Relief charge experience and prostacyclin therapy are a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Fluency in titratable cardiac drips and IV medications
• Knowledge of CHF, MI, arrhythmia, and pulmonary hypertension management
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible, positive attitude and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Compassion and empathy for patients and families
