Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients- Postpartum moms and Newborns
• Experience or 'Must have' skills- 1 year postpartum experience
• Are RNs required to titrate drips?- NO
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips- NO
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor- usually have a free charge nurse.
• Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? NO
• OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?- yes
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc)- Pulse ox,
• Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?-NO
• EFM System- Fetal link, Cerner
• Shifts & Scheduling- 3 times a week
• Weekend Requirement- 1 weekend every other week
• Holiday Requirement- 1 major and 2 minor
• Is there a call or standby requirement? If census is low they may be placed on standby
• Floating Requirements NO
• Scrub Color/Dress code- NAVY Blue
• Unit/Department specific orientation- 1 Day of orientation.
