Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Cardiac, Respiratory Compromise, Post-Procedure Recovery
• Experience or 'Must have' skills Able to care for non invasive respiratory support i,e BPAP, Heated Hiflow, etc, Able to manage some drips that are in the titratable meds policy for IMC units,chest tube management.
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips Cardiac, Antihypertensive, Metabolic, Antiarrhythmic, Sedation and Analgesia
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? CRN has no patient assignment
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios Yes- 1:12
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) Vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, High Flow
• Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Tele techs are in CMU but in the CVU unit- different cost center. Strips are read by MT but verified by RN. Tele monitor system is GE. Rythm strips do not interfaced in EPIC and are all in paper.
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Self sceduling and Block
• Weekend Requirements Yes - Full and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, aligning with department needs, unit staffing plans, and ensuring equitable distribution among all staff
