Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, rotating days including weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide cardiac stepdown care for post-surgical patients including open heart, vascular, and thoracic cases
Monitor telemetry and manage cardiac drips like amiodarone, heparin, and milrinone
Perform chest tube and epidural management with precision
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on recovery plans and discharge instructions
Maintain a calm, efficient environment in a fast-paced unit

Qualifications

Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
2+ years of stepdown or PCU experience required
ACLS and BLS certifications required
Experience with cardiac surgery and vascular surgery populations preferred
Telemetry proficiency essential
Team player with a flexible attitude ready to hit the ground running

Knowledge & Skills

Stepdown and telemetry monitoring
Cardiac drip management and interpretation
Chest tube and epidural care
Cerner EMR proficiency
Ability to float to other stepdown or med-surg units as needed
Strong communication and collaboration skills
