Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Multi-Trauma Unit (MTU), a Level 1 trauma center with highly complex and interesting cases
• Manage patients with chest tubes, trauma, trachs, and suction, utilizing advanced assessment skills
• Collaborate with a supportive team of charge nurses, physicians, and techs to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor patient ratios (1:4) and adjust care plans accordingly
• Utilize Meditech EMR for documentation and care coordination
• Participate in bedside procedures such as chest tube placement and bronchoscopy assistance

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred)
• NIH certification preferred
• Prior experience with Meditech electronic medical records preferred
• Ability to manage a highly acute patient population with a positive, team-oriented attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for complex trauma patients
• Proficiency in managing ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, and specialty beds
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
