Shift Type: Monday-Friday, typically 16-hour on-call shifts (excluding holidays), plus Saturday-Sunday 24-hour on-call coverage. Rotating on-call schedule including weekends and holidays.

Candidate Pay Rate: $59.50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert intraoperative care across general, neuro, spine, ortho and urology surgical cases
• Practice independently after department orientation and take ownership of your room
• Prepare and maintain a sterile, organized surgical field for every procedure
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia and the surgical team to keep cases running smoothly
• Document care accurately in Meditech and other electronic charting systems
• Grow your skill set with on-site training for eye and dental surgeries
• Respond quickly and confidently during on-call hours, including weekends and holidays
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort before, during and after every procedure

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing, verifiable through Nursys
• Completed ARN 101 training
• NIHSS certification
• DCI/BVP certification
• CAORN certification preferred, and we would love to help you get there
• Ability to practice independently after department orientation
• Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for long periods of time
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written
• Reliable transportation to and from the facility
• Up-to-date vaccinations and health screenings including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, TB test and a physical health statement

• Operating room nursing with a calm, confident presence
• Surgical case management from prep to close
• General surgery, neuro, spine, ortho, urology, eye and dental procedures
• Electronic documentation and Meditech EMR (we will train you)
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP assessment skills
• Independent practice after orientation
• Strong communication and teamwork in fast-paced surgical settings
• Attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
