Registered Nurse - Neuroscience ICU (NSICU)
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Start Date: 08-17-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, self-scheduling with required weekend shifts (6 per period)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional critical care to neurology and neurosurgery patients in a 12-bed NSICU
- Monitor and manage patients post-thrombectomy and TPA administration
- Perform advanced procedures including CRRT, bedside EVD insertion, and A-line monitoring
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other ICUs or step-down units as needed to support the team
- Document patient care in Cerner EHR system
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of ICU experience required
- Active RN license (compact or state-specific)
- ACLS and BLS certifications mandatory
- NIHSS certification required
- Experience with neuro post-thrombectomy and post-neurosurgery patients preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in CRRT, EVD management, and A-line monitoring
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for high-acuity patients
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Comfortable with floating to other units as needed
