Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Acute Stroke, Neuro popluation, and general medical floor
• Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No
• Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes and yes
• Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes and ratios will vary.
• RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Bipap, and Hiflow. RT will manage but RN can troubleshoot.
• Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Centralized tele but RN required to review each shift
• Shifts & Scheduling: Self scheduling but subject to change to present a balanced schedule
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week period
• Holiday Requirement: 2 summer and 3 winter
• Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No
• Floating Requirements: Yes - may be pulled to the Floors
• Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Galaxy Blue
• How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1-2 shifts
