Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, includes weekend rotation (4 weekend shifts per 8 weeks)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to neuro telemetry patients, including continuous EKG monitoring and interpretation
Titrate drips such as Amio, Cardizem, and Insulin with precision and safety
Perform Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes maintaining strict sterile field technique
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, high-turnover unit
Manage patients with complex diagnoses including CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, and encephalopathy
Float to telemetry units and ICU overflow as needed
Participate in bedside shift reporting and ensure seamless patient handoffs

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility
Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
Neuro experience highly preferred
Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts allowed)
Must successfully complete SIMs lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on Day 1
Comfort titrating IV drips and interpreting EKGs

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
Skilled in IV drip titration (Amio, Cardizem, Insulin)
Experienced with sterile field technique and central line care
Knowledgeable in Cerner EMR and WOWs
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
