Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Neuro/Stroke, Neurosurgical, Medicine
• Experience or 'Must have' skills Neuro experience
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips Pressors, anti hypertensives, Sedation
• Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes, and Sometimes
• Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? no
• Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7? Intensivist 24/7 plus intensivist APP at night
• RT in ICU 24/7? They are shared among the units, not 1 dedicated/house in the one ICU
• RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? All RT equipment, and no.
• Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? No tele Tech, RN responsible for own strips and reading and placing on chart. GE
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Self scheduling, attempt to accomadate, not promised
• Weekend Requirements 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week period
• Holiday Requirements 3 winter 3 summer
