Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to MedSurg and Telemetry patients in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Perform thorough clinical assessments and build thoughtful, individualized patient care plans
• Float confidently between MedSurg and Telemetry units as staffing needs shift
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and fellow nurses to keep care coordinated and smooth
• Document accurately in Meditech to keep every detail of the patient story clear
• Educate patients and families so they feel informed and supported every step of the way

Qualifications

• Active, current RN license in good standing
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
• Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care hospital experience
• Recent MedSurg and Telemetry experience required
• NIHSS certification and DCI/BVP Workplace Violence Prevention training
• Comfortable floating between MedSurg and Telemetry units
• Willing and able to work weekend shifts
• Meditech EMR experience is highly preferred (facility-sponsored training may be available for the right candidate)

Education

• BLS
• ACLS
• DCI/BVP
• NIHSS

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment skills in an acute care environment
• Confident patient management and prioritization abilities
• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Adaptability and a positive attitude when floating between units
• Clear, thorough charting in Meditech
• NIHSS stroke assessment knowledge
• Team-first communication with nurses, providers, and support staff
• A calm, steady presence when patient conditions change quickly
