Education

• Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Medical-Surgical Telemetry, Surgical Specialty
• Experience or 'Must have' skills: One year of inpatient experience
• Are RN's required to titrate drips: Only Heparin gtt (Pharmacy to dose and Cardizem gtt up to 10 mg/hr)
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin and Cardizem
• Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Yes - Tele techs are based in Arizona
• Do RN's read strips? Yes
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Yes and Yes
• Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 1:8, NOC 1:10/11 after 2300
• RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow): Yes
• Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hr shifts. Patterned schedule
• Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs but typically every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement - Preferred - Manager to discuss during phone interview
• Call or Standby Requirement: Based on census
• Floating Requirements – Please be specific (what floors/units): Travelers are first to float. House AC is aware of the skill-based aspect.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any scrub color
• Unit/Department Specific Orientation: A checklist will be provided
• Additional Notes: Certified bariatric surgical unit. Multi Disciplinary Rounds meeting is held every dayhift at 10 am.
