Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension, and chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, and pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, asthma, and pneumonia, Pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.
• Experience or 'Must have' skills cardiac drips
• post cath lab
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios yes

• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) CPAP, HFNC, NRB
• Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? yes
• tele techs monitor 24/7
• RN co-signs strips
• Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) Self sceduling and Block
• Weekend Requirements Yes - Full and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule, aligning with department needs, unit staffing plans, and ensuring equitable distribution among all staff

• Is there a call or standby requirement? Determined by NM
• How are units assigned? i.e. via text message, daily sheet assignments, set schedule? Set schedule and communicated via established process from NM. If an extreme need could float within Zone 3
• Scrub Color/Dress Code Navy Blue --> caribbean blue scrubs for RN's at SAN
