Education

• Common diagnosis / Types of patients total joints, cardiac rule out, PNA, psych, gen surgery post op
• Experience or 'Must have' skills Nitro, Insulin (may initiate and then transfer), low dose dopamine and dobutamine. Rare on this floor. Would be titratable within a small range.
• Are RN's required to titrate drips yes, heparin
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips heparin is weight based
• Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips? yes, and yes
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor yes/yes
• Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios 1
• 8 max 1:12
• RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) cpap, bipap, high flow
• Shifts & Scheduling 07-730 3 days a week
• Weekend Requirement every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement rotate as needed
• Call or Standby Requirement no
• Floating Requirements Can float up to Med tele, PCU or ICU to care for Med Surg acuity patients or ER holding.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code any color professional scrubs
• Unit/Department Specific Orientation Can test out of Epic if experienced. Will meet with unit educator and then 1 full shift orientation.
