Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Cardiology, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Complex general Med surg patients
• Experience or 'Must have' skills Able to care for a wide variety of patients. Academic institute - Willingness to teach (precept) and learn.
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? No
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips IVF
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor If you have experience great.
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios 1:10-14
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) Nasal canula, <6L if acute, trach collar
• Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes - Tele, Yes - Centralized monitoring techs, RN able to read basic strips.
• Shifts & Scheduling 12 hr shifts, self-scheduling, per manager for unit balancing
• Weekend Requirement every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement Yes No RTO approved over holidays
• Is there a call or standby requirement? No
• Floating Requirements Per skill level
• Scrub Color/Dress Code Navy Blue
• Unit/Department specific orientation 1-2 days orientation
