Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to 6 patients per shift on a 18 to 20 bed spine and Med/Surg unit
• Perform thorough assessments and monitor acute care patients throughout the night
• Provide wound and dressing care for post-op burn and flap patients
• Partner closely with LPNs, PCTs, and charge nurses to keep care coordinated and smooth
• Document accurately in Meditech to keep the whole team informed
• Operate specialized equipment including Hoyer lifts, air taps, wound vacs, and PCAs
• Educate patients and families so they feel confident about the road ahead
• Bring positive energy to a tight-knit team that supports each other every shift

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital Med/Surg experience
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS is a nice bonus but not required
• Burn care, wound care, or ostomy care experience helps you stand out
• A team-player mindset and a genuinely positive attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg and acute care clinical judgment
• Confidence with wound care, dressing changes, and post-op flap patients
• Comfort using Meditech or a willingness to learn it quickly
• Experience with Hoyer lifts, air taps, wound vacs, and PCAs
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving unit
