Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to Med/Surg patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient status, responding quickly to any changes or emergencies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately while maintaining thorough documentation
• Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and self-care strategies for a smooth transition after discharge

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or a compact state, in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current TNCC and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every third weekend
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills, with a passion for patient advocacy

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and evidence-based practices
• Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and accurate documentation
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients with varying acuity levels
• Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and interpersonal communication
