Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Medical-surgical overflow patients (CHF, DM, UTI, non critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, isolation, end-of-life/palliative, awaiting placement, post-op from general surgery)
• Experience or 'must have' skills: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in acute care
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes, limited to Heparin gtt and Cardizem gtt (up to 10mg/hr)
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin and Cardizem
• Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Yes
• Do RN's read strips? Yes (pending approval of position) and Yes
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge RN
• Are there Nurse Aides on this unit? Yes
• CNA/Ratios: 1:9
• RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow): CPAP and Bi PAP, No Hi Flow
• Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shift, FTE based
• Weekend Requirement: Yes - will be based on unit needs/demands
• Holiday Requirement: - Preferred - Manager to discuss during phone interview
