Education

• Common diagnosis / Types of patients Ortho
• Experience or 'Must have' skills great communication and time management,
• Are RN's required to titrate drips: no
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips: n/a
• Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do RN's read strips? tele monitor techs monitor patients but RNs have to be able to read strips
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Charge Nurse and House Supervisors and Nurse Educators available
• Are there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios PCTs are present 12/1
• RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) Cpap, Bipap, and high flow patients
• Shifts & Scheduling 12 hour shifts scheduling is by manager, cannot guarantee block scheduling
• Weekend Requirement every other weekend required
• Holiday Requirement holidays are required
• Call or Standby Requirement no
• Floating Requirements must be willing and able to float to all med/tele units.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code Navy blue
• Unit/Department Specific Orientation 2 shadow/orientation shifts prior to being on their own
