Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to laboring, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients
• Titrate critical drips including pitocin, insulin, and magnesium
• Interpret fetal heart strips and respond to changes in maternal/fetal status
• Float to med-surg and ER departments as needed, supporting hospital-wide care
• Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and surgical techs to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state
• BLS certification required (ACLS, NRP, STABLE preferred)
• Previous travel experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read and interpret fetal strips independently
• Strong critical thinking and quality metrics adherence
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing high-risk obstetric patients

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in fetal strip interpretation and TraceView/PIP systems
• Experienced with Meditech EMR
• Skilled in titration of pitocin, magnesium, and insulin drips
• Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Flexibility to adapt to floating requirements and varying patient acuities
