Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, includes rotating weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $84 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to labor and delivery and postpartum patients
Monitor fetal heart rates and contractions using FetalLink and Cerner EMR
Assist with high-risk deliveries, emergency interventions, and C-section circulation
Educate and support new mothers in postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, positive outcomes
Float between L&D and postpartum units as needed to support patient care

Qualifications

Active RN license in California (or compact license)
Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring certification (AWOHNN) required
Minimum 2-3 years of recent L&D and postpartum experience
Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
Ability to float between L&D and postpartum units and assist with C-section circulation

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of labor and delivery nursing practices and fetal monitoring interpretation
Proficient in Cerner EMR and FetalLink systems
Skilled in circulating for C-sections and managing high-risk deliveries
Excellent communication and patient education abilities
Comfortable caring for diverse patient populations, including Spanish-speaking patients
