Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to mothers and babies throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart tones, contractions, and maternal vital signs, responding quickly to changes
• Support high-risk obstetric patients, collaborating closely with physicians and the care team
• Perform immediate newborn care and resuscitation, ensuring a safe start for every baby
• Assist in the operating room for cesarean sections, including circulating duties
• Educate and empower new parents with confidence in newborn care
• Document accurately in the EMR (Cerner) and use fetal monitoring systems to track progress

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics and immediate newborn care
• Current BLS/ALS certification (AHA preferred)
• Current NRP certification
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in fetal monitoring and interpreting tracings
• Skilled in immediate newborn care and resuscitation
• Knowledge of high-risk obstetric conditions and interventions
• Comfortable with circulating during operative procedures
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR and Fetalink software
• Familiarity with Baxter pumps and Philips electronic fetal monitoring equipment
• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced situations
