Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, including fetal heart monitoring, and intervene promptly when needed
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the healthcare team to create safe, personalized birth plans
• Educate families on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NRP certification required
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required
• Completion of specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of maternal and fetal assessments
• Ability to read and interpret fetal heart monitoring strips
• Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency response
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Team-oriented with a compassionate, patient-centered approach
