Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and babies during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, intervening promptly to ensure safe outcomes
• Assist with deliveries, C-sections, and emergency procedures in a fast-paced L&D unit
• Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and the care team to create personalized birth plans
• Educate new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery
• Document accurately and maintain a calm, reassuring presence for families

Qualifications

• Active Idaho RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
• Previous Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of labor and delivery nursing practices
• Skill in fetal heart monitoring interpretation
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and team members
• Comfortable with electronic health records and documentation
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach
