Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients, including high-acuity obstetric cases
• Circulate during Cesarean sections and assist in the OR as needed
• Administer IV drips such as magnesium sulfate and other critical medications
• Monitor fetal heart rates and support patients through labor and delivery
• Assist with procedures including epidurals, spinals, cerclage, and version
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe deliveries and positive outcomes
• Document care accurately in Meditech electronic health records
• Float within the women's and children's service line to support patient care where needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or a compact state
• 2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate certification required
• Experience with fast-paced L&D units is essential
• C-section circulating and scrub role experience preferred
• Strong IV administration skills, including high-acuity medications
• Comfortable with Meditech documentation system
