Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, including interpreting fetal heart rate patterns
• Assist with deliveries, C-sections, and emergency procedures
• Educate and support new families with breastfeeding and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other team members to ensure optimal outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland or compact state (or willingness to obtain)
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery nursing practices
• Ability to interpret fetal heart monitoring strips
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
