Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Grand Island, Nebraska

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, start times between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM or 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, every other weekend, holidays as required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to laboring patients, including monitoring fetal heart tones and maternal vital signs
Administer and titrate medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia as ordered
Support postpartum recovery and breastfeeding education
Assist with antepartum care and post-surgical GYN procedures
Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Adhere to AWHONN guidelines for patient-to-nurse ratios

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of recent labor and delivery experience
Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS and NRP certifications required
Driver's license required for verification of radius rule
Ability to pass open-book exam during orientation with 90% score

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in fetal monitoring and interpretation
Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines and patient safety standards
Experience with high-risk pregnancies (HTN, diabetes)
Ability to titrate IV drips (Pitocin, Magnesium, Procardia)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
