Shift Type: Rotating shifts including days and nights; all shifts available (days and nights). Per diem schedule, must be available to pick up at least 4-5 shifts per month; may float to Adult Hospital as needed.

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, trauma-informed nursing care to youth in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Build strong therapeutic rapport and make person-centered decisions that balance safety and individual needs
• Use de-escalation techniques and creative problem-solving to reduce conflict and avoid power struggles
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Safely manage patient assignments consistent with unit ratios and documentation standards
• Float to the Adult Hospital as needed to support census and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — current and active (as represented in the posting)
• CPI certification required, or willingness to obtain CPI within 45 days of start
• Minimum 2+ years of recent behavioral health nursing experience
• Experience in inpatient youth care or float pool preferred
• Cerner experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Behavioral health nursing and inpatient youth care best practices
• De-escalation and crisis intervention skills
• Trauma-informed, person-centered care approach
• Ability to work flexibly and creatively in high-stakes situations
• Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
• Comfort with floating between youth and adult behavioral health units
