Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care for patients in a combined acuity unit (ICU/PCU/MST) with ratios tailored to acuity
Monitor and titrate sedation, vasopressors, and insulin drips to maintain patient stability
Perform 12-lead EKGs and interpret cardiac rhythms for ICU patients
Serve as charge nurse overseeing up to 50 inpatient beds across multiple units
Float to EC MST, Pediatric, and West Campus units to maintain competency in all acuity levels
Collaborate with remote monitor techs and respiratory therapists for optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience or 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med Surg in a large facility
Must pass dysrhythmia exam (80% or higher within two attempts) before signing contract
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Ability to titrate drips including sedation, vasopressors, and insulin
No prior employment with CommonSpirit (CHI/Dignity) as staff or PRN within the last year
Reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility

Knowledge & Skills

Strong ICU and PCU clinical skills
Proficiency in dysrhythmia recognition and 12-lead EKG interpretation
Experience with titration of critical drips
Ability to adapt to floating between units and acuity levels
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable with remote monitoring technology
