Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Mostly general med ICU. some surgical.
• Experience or 'Must have' skills Minimum of 2 years experience.
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? sed. para to train of 4, vaso activ
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips All critical drips. Sedation, vasoactive meds etc.
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Charge nurse on every shift
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios Primary care unit. No aids
• Hospitalist or Intensivist in house In house during the day, Virtual ICU Intesivist at night.
• RT in ICU 24/7 RT assigned to ICU, in house 24 7
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) CPAP, Bi PAP, Vents. All oxygen delivery modes.
• Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Centralized monitoirng. nurses verify
• Shifts & Scheduling 7 - 7:30 for both am and pm. Set schedule by Manager.
• Weekend Requirement Every other weekend. Reasonable RTO accepted.
• Holiday Requirement Rotate with perm staff.
• Is there a call or standby requirement? No
• Floating Requirements Float to PCU or Med Surg or ER for holds only with a max ratio of 1:4.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code Any color professional scrubs.
• Unit/Department specific orientation Can test out of EPIC. Will meet with unit educator and then 1 full shift of orientation.
