Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill patients in our 12-bed ICU, utilizing advanced technology and evidence-based practices
• Monitor patient vital signs, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Administer medications, assist with central line placement, and support bedside procedures such as thoracentesis and intubations
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and their families about conditions and treatment plans, ensuring comfort and understanding

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (compact accepted) - temporary licenses are not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with MICU/MSICU experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• CCRN certification is preferred
• Experience with Meditech documentation system is preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, and Arctic Sun
• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic support
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to float to other units as needed
