Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Shifts: 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to a diverse ICU population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis patients
Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation as needed, monitoring patient responses
Interpret telemetry strips and collaborate with tele techs to ensure accurate cardiac monitoring
Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios
Participate in open-book skills exam during orientation to demonstrate competency
Work collaboratively with nurse aides and respiratory therapists to deliver comprehensive care

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience preferred
Ability to pass a pass/fail exam during orientation (open book, 90% required)
Valid driver's license required for mileage verification
Willingness to adhere to facility policies including artificial nail prohibition

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in titrating common ICU drips: cardiac, insulin, sedation
Skilled in interpreting telemetry strips and using GE monitors
Knowledge of ventilator management and high-flow oxygen devices
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio
Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary team
