Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-level care to critically ill patients in a 16-bed Medical ICU
• Manage complex drips including vasopressors, sedation, and other titratable medications
• Monitor and support patients on ventilators, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists to deliver comprehensive treatment
• Respond quickly to emergent situations such as sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and MI
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with facility policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of submission
• PALS and TNCC certifications strongly preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred but not required
• Must pass a pass/fail exam during orientation (open book, resources provided)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in titration of vasopressors and sedatives
• Proficient in ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and verify monitor readings
• Comfortable floating to Progressive Care Unit when needed
