Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide timely, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Assess and triage patients rapidly, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Initiate and manage clinical interventions in collaboration with the ED team
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Meditech 6.0 preferred) to ensure continuity
• Respond decisively during emergencies and support critical procedures
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide coverage during 24-hour call shifts
• Contribute to a positive, team-based environment and mentor less experienced staff

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Arizona or compact RN license preferred)
• Previous Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience required; travel nurse experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and taking occasional 24-hour call shifts
• Experience with Meditech 6.0 or similar EMR is preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced certifications (ACLS/PALS) a plus
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage skills
• Proficiency or familiarity with Meditech 6.0 EMR documentation
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients and prioritize effectively
• Skill in IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency interventions
• Calm decision-making under pressure and solid teamwork/collaboration
• Clear verbal and written communication with patients and clinical staff
