Education

• Certified stroke center
• # of Beds/Trauma Bays: 21
• Ratios: 1:04
• Common diagnoses/Types of patients: all ages, chest pain, abdominal pain, cough/congestion, orthopedic injuries, ENT emergencies, sepsis, stroke
• Common drips: Antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, vaccines, emergency medications
• Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Yes
• Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours shifts, 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a, ED leadership will create the schedule based on needs
• Weekend Requirements: Every other
• Holiday Requirements: Yes
• How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 shifts
• Additional Notes: This is a smaller ER with less specialty resources, will transfer patients out as needed, Attributes that help a nurse be successful in this unit include being a kind and compassionate caregiver, team work, high energy, compassionate, positivity, and a can-do attitude
