Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients mix 60/40 split UC to ER
• Experience or 'Must have' skills 2yrs recent ER
• ED Physicians/Mid-Levels 1-2 MD 24/7 + 1 Mid-level 10-20hrs a day
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Charge on site/House supervisor at parent hospital
• Nurse Aids/Paramedics/Patient sitters no
• EMR EPIC
• RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, High Flow, etc.) Does RT do ABG's, breathing tx, EGS's? No RT on site. Hamilton C1 Vent for all needs - nurses do all skills
• Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? 6 rooms with monitors. no techs
• X-Ray or CT in the ER? Transport? X-ray/CT in unit - US on call
• Phlebotomy or nurse draw Nurse draw
• Shifts & Scheduling: 6wk rotations - 12hr shifts
• Holiday Requirement 1 major in summer / 1 major in winter
• Is there a call or standby requirement? no
• Floating Requirements: May float between FSED in Port Orchard (volunteers first)
• Scrub Color/Dress Code Black
• Unit/Department specific orientation Provided on site 1-2 shifts of shadowing and online modules.
