Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide competent, compassionate direct patient care in the Emergency Room
• Triage patients, obtain histories, and perform comprehensive nursing assessments
• Act independently in life-threatening situations to initiate immediate care when a physician is not present
• Process physician orders accurately and follow up on medication changes and clarifications
• Collaborate with the care team to evaluate and revise treatment plans for optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Answer ambulance radios and give appropriate pre-hospital care orders without assistance

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (LARA or Nursys verification required)
• 2+ years of Emergency Room experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Ability to provide a current skills checklist and 2 supervisory references

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert in emergency nursing and triage
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in using Epic charting system
• Knowledge of emergency procedures and equipment
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, frequently stressful environment
