Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Level I Trauma)

Location: Omaha, NE

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts; available start times: 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, 7:00 PM. Weekend and holiday rotations required as per department needs.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a Level I Trauma Center
Triage patients and prioritize care based on acuity and needs
Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
Monitor telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms
Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and the healthcare team for optimal outcomes
Maintain composure and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state required
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required (NRP preferred)
Recent Level I or Level II trauma experience is a must
Driver's license required for radius determination
Ability to pass an open-book orientation exam with 90% or higher
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment abilities
Proficiency in trauma care and emergency procedures
Ability to thrive in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of common ED drips and medications
