Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, triage and stabilize emergency patients quickly and confidently
- Administer treatments and medications per protocols and provider orders
- Collaborate with physicians, techs and ancillary services to coordinate timely care
- Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the chart
- Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity
- Participate in department quality and safety initiatives to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license in the required state (ability to obtain NH license if needed)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
- Experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, prioritization and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency assessment skills
- IV insertion, medication administration and emergency interventions
- Familiarity with common ED equipment and monitoring
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
- Calm decision-making under pressure and strong situational awareness
