Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour ED/ER shifts (schedule start/end times and specific days to be provided by employer; 12.5 hours per shift as listed)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patients in the ED/ER
Perform timely triage, assessment, and interventions for acute and critical presentations
Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient care clearly and promptly in the medical record
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans and follow-up care
Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or ability to obtain prior to start
Prior emergency department experience preferred
Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Demonstrated ability to perform in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency assessment skills
IV insertion, medication administration and urgent care procedures
Ability to prioritize multiple high-acuity patients safely
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Calm, confident decision-making under pressure and strong patient advocacy
