Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform surgical scrub and circulating duties for cardiovascular procedures
• Assist in open-heart surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and thoracotomies
• Monitor patient hemodynamics and response to anesthesia during surgery
• Prepare the operating room with sterile supplies and ensure equipment is functioning
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to maintain patient safety
• Document intraoperative care accurately in the EMR (Meditech)

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Virginia or compact state)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
• Experience with CABG, valve replacement, thoracotomy, endo AAA, and pacemaker procedures
• Scrubbing experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiac surgical procedures and sterile technique
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond quickly in critical situations
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible and self-motivated with a commitment to high-quality patient care
