Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert circulating nurse duties for cardiovascular surgeries including CABG and other complex procedures
• Maintain a sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team
• Monitor patient vitals and coordinate care before, during, and after surgery
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are readily available and functioning
• Collaborate with a dynamic team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and scrub nurses

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state (NLC)
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience with proven ability to circulate hearts (hard stop requirement)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a high-stakes environment

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and sterile techniques
• Ability to think quickly and adapt in a fast-paced operating room
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Meditech or similar EMR systems
