Education

• Common diagnoses/Types of patients Heart. Lumg Transplants, LVAD patients in C8A, ACB and Valve surgeries in C8B
• Experience or 'Must have' skills: CRRT trained
• Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips All vasoactive drips for cardiac patients
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Unit has charge RN that has patients most of the time
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios 1 PCA on the floor
• Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Intensivist model
• RT in ICU 24/7 RT assigned to unit
• RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, Bi Pap, etc) any equipment that is managed by an RT
• Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Hardwire monitoring
• Shifts & Scheduling 12 hour shifts, Scheduled based on unit needs
• Weekend Requirement 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks schedules
• Holiday Requirement any they are willing to work
• Is there a call or standby requirement? no
• Floating Requirements First to float out depending on competency
• Scrub Color/Dress Code teal scrubs
• Unit/Department specific orientation 2-3 shifts with preceptors
• Additional Notes Devices these units see are LVAD, CRRT/SLED, Impella, IABP
