Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret EKG rhythms to identify changes in patient status
• Provide post-cardiac procedural care for patients following ablations, cardiac catheterizations, and pacemaker placements
• Administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Perform and assist with procedures including IV insertion, NGT placement, chest tube maintenance, and temporary pacemaker management
• Collaborate with charge nurses, unit secretaries, and PCTs to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Support patient experience goals by fostering personal connections and involving patients in their care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Missouri (or compact license)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with post cardiac procedural care (ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op open heart)
• Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with IV medication titration and administration

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in EKG and telemetry strip interpretation
• Knowledge of cardiac medications and IV titration protocols
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring and cardiac device management
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
