Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM day or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM night, includes weekend rotations (4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks). Self-scheduling after first schedule.

Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Place patients into appropriate units across multiple hospitals using critical thinking and clinical knowledge
• Assess bed requests and communicate with charge nurses or leadership when a request doesn't match the patient's needs
• Utilize TeleTracking and Cerner to manage bed assignments efficiently
• Coordinate with ED, leadership, and other departments via multiple chat applications to ensure timely patient placement
• Maintain a calm and organized approach while working with three screens and multiple applications simultaneously
• Ensure zero hands-on patient care while serving as the central point for bed management

Qualifications

• Active RN, LVN, or CNA license (RN preferred)
• Recent acute care experience (2 years preferred; at least 1 recent acute care contract required)
• Proven experience with TeleTracking and Cerner systems
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Zoom and Google applications
• Excellent multitasking and customer service abilities
• Must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit facility (CHI/Dignity) in the past year

Knowledge & Skills

• Bed placement and patient placement workflows
• Acute care clinical knowledge to differentiate medical units (e.g., MedSurg vs Tele)
• Critical thinking and decision-making under pressure
• Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and bed management software
