Education

  • Certs/ARRT & other specialty certification requirements ARRT registered. WA state DOH imaging license, Radiation Badge is required (responsibility of traveler's employer, facility will not provide)
  • How many scanners/rooms does this department have? 4 x ray rooms, 4 portables, 2 fluoro rooms
  • Will they have to float/cover any other areas? No, Just X ray.
  • Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties Portable X rays, X rays in the department and ED. This person for this shift will not be working alone. There are other X ray techs on graves.
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills One year experience preferred. Preferred larger fast paced hosp exp
  • Average # of scans/studies per day It can vary, but about 20-50
  • EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use Mc Kesson PACs and EPIC
  • Department Specific Equipment (GE, Phillips, Siemens) GE, Siemens, Shimadzu.
  • Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech There is a day and swing shift lead. No grave yard lead.
  • Do they use RRA's (Registered Radiology Assistants)? No, but we do have our own transporters on day shift and swing shift
  • Radiologist in-house? In house radiologist 8am to 5pm. Radiologists read off site after that.
  • Do they have to start IV's? (if applicable to the department) No.
  • Shifts & Scheduling Mon-Thurs, 7a-530p, minimal call
  • Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided? Scrubs provided
  • Department specific orientation Yes, two hours with the manager and 2 weeks with staff orientation
