Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for acute care patients, focusing on cardiac and ICU populations
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal recovery outcomes
• Implement evidence-based interventions to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Document patient progress accurately in the EMR system (Meditech)
• Participate in weekend coverage rotations to ensure continuous patient care

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in Texas or compact eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience, including ICU/CCU settings
• BLS certification required
• Experience with cardiac surgery patients (open heart, TAVR, LVAD) preferred
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of acute care rehabilitation protocols
• Familiarity with cardiac and critical care patient populations
• Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Meditech
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with hospitalists, nurses, and case managers
